TRAINING PHASES

 

Each Phase below begins with a complete on and off ice baseline strength, conditioning, skill and athletic assessment. This allows us to isolate strengths and weaknesses and allows us to quantify and track improvement.

Students and coaches review monthly game and practice video. NHL games are also broken down and reviewed regularly.

Phase 1
September - Mid November - Hockey Skating, Edges, Explosive Starts, Forward Stride, Balance and Agility, Puck Handling, Small area games, individual video analysis.

Phase 2
Mid November - February - Position Specific Skating (featuring our unique Defensive Skating Program), Defensemen Program, Scoring Program (for the Forwards), Advanced Puck Skills Program, Special Teams Tactics, Small area games, Game play video analysis.

Phase 3
March - April - Acceleration Program, Transition Skills, Defensive Checking Skills (includes age specific body contact/checking skills), Shooting, individual video analysis.

Phase 4
May - Mid June - Review areas of weakness.
